The Black Donnellys

A couple of weeks ago my partner and I happened upon The Donnelly Museum in Lucan, Ontario.   Not far from London, this little museum introduced us to a little bit of Ontario history.  We had met people with the name before (apparently it is quite common, especially in small town Ontario), and had heard little tidbits about some horrible mass murder, but didn’t know much more.  Well, that visit got me started and, loving small ‘h’ history, I decided to follow the visit up with some research.  I am now reading a trilogy of plays written by James Reaney.  I also have a non-fiction book on my desk by Thomas P. Kelley.  I’ll post my thoughts to the blog once I’ve made a little more progress.  For now I keep wondering why I never learned about this in high school.
