Random Thoughts

Through all of my reading and all of my discussions and my constant use of a variety of different types of libraries, I have come to the conclusion that libraries are not about books, they are about people. They are about people looking for information, looking for entertainment, looking to learn things, and looking to meet other people.  This is in sharp contrast to the public’s perspective (that they are about books) – something which became apparent in my introductory LIS course on perspectives in library and information science.
