Scaredy Squirrel

Watt, Melanie.  Scaredy Squirrel. Kids Can Press.  (2006).  ISBN # 978-1-55337-959-1scaredy squirrel

I love this book (and I think I should give it to my sister-in-law).  Scaredy Squirrel is agoraphobic – he’s afraid to leave his home.  He’s also afraid of tarantulas, poison ivy, green Martians, killer bees, germs, and sharks.  It takes a disaster – the arrival of a bumble bee – to make him panic, lose his emergency kit, and fall out of his tree, at which time he discovers he is a flying squirrel!  He then changes his life to include the adventure of (a little) flying every day.  Watt has a wonderful sense of humour.  See the inside jacket for the story, “in a nutshell”.

This book is great! Even though my niece is too young for it, i had to get this book for her and another Scaredy Squirrel adventure book. They are so funny and have a cute message in them too.
