I always enjoy the Stella books.  I don’t know what it is about them.  Perhaps it’s the relationship between Stella and Sam that I like.  They appear to be siblings but it’s never really clear.  Stella does take on a ‘mothering’ type of role.  I love the clear clean illustrations.  They are light and airy.  I also love the fact that Sam is so inquisitive.  And Stella knows just what to say to entice Sam into the water.  The Stella books are all very imaginative and intelligently written.
